Heidi was born on November 9 in the small town of Sand Lake, New York.

After studying Art at Simmons College and then Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute , she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.

From there she worked as an internet developer at D&D Consulting in Albany, NY. Afterwards, she worked for TASC, The Analytical Sciences Corporation, once owned by Litton Industries but who knows what happened to it later.

In 1997, she returned to RPI for her Masters degree in Technical Communication but since she had funding she decided to stay for a Masters of Computer Science too.

Graduating in 2000, she went to work for IBM in North Carolina and has been there since despite several escape attempts.

She is working on her PhD in Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media at NC State University.
